So the deal is, this list is for discussion of pretty much anything to do with Tolkien's Elves, and also the sorts of things you might find on the Elf Fetish site. You know, fan fiction, artwork, Elven Languages, the Lord of the Rings movies, other Tolkien books, and all that fun stuff. The goal is to set up beginner- to intermediate-level discussions of Tolkien's work, along with discussions of writing, artwork, and such posted by members. Alternately, discussions of which Elf probably had the nicest clothes won't be discouraged.
If you want to learn more about Tolkien's world but don't know where to start, if you're trying to string together your first few phrases of Sindarin, or if you're like most people and it took you three tries to get past the first chapter (or like me, the first page) of the Silmarillion, come join. Or on the other end, if you've been studying Tolkien for years and own every volume of History of Middle-earth and can write essays in Quenya, you're also very welcome to join. In fact, please do join. I'll pay you. I need you to tell me what the seven gates of Gondolin were... In other words, everyone is welcome. So long as you're interested in Elves. I won't tolerate any Dwarf-praising, no sir. And Men- psh. Only Elves! ...oh, and Half-elves. But that's it! |
